A native of Boise, Idaho, Dr. Rick Davis graduated from Boise High School in 1986. He attended Brigham Young University graduating with a B.S. in Nutritional Science in 1993. After completing two years of graduate studies in Exercise Science and Sports Studies at Boise State University, he began his medical training at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky. He was elected AOA and graduated with high distinction in 1999. He then joined the University of Nebraska/Creighton University Orthopaedic Residency Program, graduating in 2004.

Dr. Davis served as a staff physician and orthopedic surgeon in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada from 2004 – 2008. During his tenure in the military, Dr. Davis provided orthopedic care to active duty and retired military personnel, with an emphasis in sports injuries and arthritic conditions.

He was deployed to Iraq in 2006 and to Afghanistan in 2008. While serving these deployments he provided operative care to military service members and coalition forces as well as local nationals with battlefield injuries. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal for his accomplishments during his military service.

After his military service, Dr. Davis completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, specializing in sports injuries, arthroscopy and joint replacement.

Dr. Davis has served as a private practice orthopedic surgeon in the Western Treasure Valley since 2009. He and Dr. Foote have served as Co-Medical Directors of the Saint Alphonsus Ontario Orthopaedic Service Line since 2010. Dr. Davis is also currently serving as Chief of Surgery at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Ontario.

In 2011 he received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Davis serves as a team physician for Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.

Dr. Davis resides in Fruitland, Idaho, with his wife, Tamara, and their five sons. He is an avid snow skier, water skier, and cyclist.
